The revenue generated from food processing industries rounds off to $2 trillion globally. Population growth, increasing aspirational level of population in developing countries and both acceptance and necessity of packaged or ready-to-eat food products has been the key drivers for the food industry. With growth in production comes greater waste generation. Usually, the waste generated from food industries isn’t toxic to the environment as it's biologically degradable but when properly recycled/reused can generate a greater revenue.
